I had to come back and tell you that after finishing up the Queenmaker chapter I'm quite on board with Jon being Arthur's son and eventually wielding Dawn. I also wanted to suggest an alternate idea for the Thor symbolism: Robert Baratheon.
There is evidence towards the end of the Queenmaker chapter that Robert dressed in Rhaegar's armor and helped abduct Lyanna. You can read the details in part 3 of my analysis.

I also wanted to suggest an alternate idea for the Thor symbolism: Robert Baratheon. w/r/t the comics, the Thor characteristics and backstory seems to be split fairly evenly between Rhaegar and Dany, so I'm comfortable keeping it as is for now. Also, when GRRM was providing his character descriptions to Amok for the GoT FF games, he described Daemon Blackfyre - who I believe is going to be super-relevant in Rhaegar's story - as looking like Marvel's Thor. Ergo, in my mind Thor is going to be represented by Targaryens.

I think balder is Hodor. walder Frey.
Balder is dumb and gets tricked by Loki aka Bloodraven into hurting his borther. So maybe Bloodraven sets up Hodor against Bran in the future.

Interesting....I had not thought of Hodor at all, but it's possible. I think a few of us here worked out that Hodor is probably about the same age as Ned, so his involvement wouldn't be that far-fetched. I guess it depends mainly on when exactly he got "Hodored". I'll have to dig into that more, good suggestion! I still have my Karnilla crackpot to get around to as well, she's my other unidentified character for this arc.

I appreciate your effort put into this, do i think its a little out there in someregards yes.
But these plots and characters were big influences on him and in his mind's eye and you may be right about some of the plot points here in. Im Looking forward to Part IIb and the rest of this series I signed up to the site after seeing your reference in The sword post on AWOIAF.
The problem with trying to connect some of the story lines with these Marvel universe is the secrets that NEd, Rhaegar, and the pact at the TOJ will reveal.
and that characters like Arthur Dayne, and Gerold Hightower (IMO) are or were concealed in other characters in the story. and why ned went to Starfall.
I quite enjoy the fisherman's daughter theory on here and it connects with me because it gives a destination for Eddard and Ashara after they leave starfall. The other men including a living Rhaegar travel up the west coast of Westeros to Bear Island and on to the Shadowtower.
In one of the theories you described how a woman sacrificied themselves for THor ? i may be confused as i read them all last night.... but it got my wheels turning.. and what if Lyannas bed of Blood was after she had dressed up in Rhaegars armor on the trident? She has already done this once before at the tourney of harrenhal. thats some kind of crockpottery but something i had never considered.

Is it possible there are multiple sets of armor? Say one that is over 400 years old?

Is it possible there are multiple sets of armor? Say one that is over 400 years old? Yanno...there might be! When I first posted the Destroyer piece elsewhere, there was some conversation about the possibility that Rhaegar might have thought he was wearing some fancy enchanted armor, and got a big ugly surprise on the Trident. It was a good suggestion, and now that we have the new Euron information from the con chapter, it might be worth revisiting. The description of Euron's VS armor, dark as smoke with dragon scales, rimmed in red gold (or whatever it was, is close enough to Rhaegar's black armor with the rubies to be a kissing cousin....maybe Rhaegar was tricked by someone into believing that he had the real McCoy, when in fact it had been elsewhere for some time. Or, befitting the Euron = Mordo connection, Euron STOLE the armor from its original owner when he 'fell from grace' as a disciple of the magic arts, knowing its value and knowing that it could be used for sorcery. Good stuff, I need to get back to this analysis with the advent of that chapter!!

I would find it funny if Rhaegar thought he was wearing this amazing armor and it's just a fake.

Could a big Warhammer do that much damage to the actual destroyer armor you think? Such as caving it in. Well, THOR'S magic hammer certainly could, but as much as Melifeather will disagree with me, King Bob ain't Thor in this scenario. As far as the comics go, the Destroyer armor was crafted to destroy gods, in particular the Celestials (see that thread for the description), so it could withstand a lot. It only met its match at the hands of a really pissed off 2000-ft tall space being, if that tells you anything. Re: the story, have we really seen the full extent of the durability of Valyrian Steel - especially if it is in fact imbued with some kind of blood magic? I don't know, so I am wary to speculate on what a suit of VS armor could or could not do when slammed with a warhammer. It's an interesting thought though, right? Rhaegar was awfully confident that he was going to return draped in the flag of victory and not a burial shroud, so perhaps he was under the impression that he was invulnerable, that (to paraphrase Sweetrobin) his fancy armor was imPREGnable to blows.

King Bob was a god-like Storm Lord, and his abduction of Lyanna replayed the Duran Godsgrief's marriage to Elenei, only he didn't marry her...he killed her...AND he killed her like the comet that split the moon.

Really though, I do no need to come back to this. That Euron chapter was just too tantalizing. Also, in researching some stuff for my Blackfyre crackpots, I found the old SSM of George's physical descriptions of the Targaryens for the FFGs or something like that - Daemon Blackfyre also wears black armor with a dragon helm. Now granted, black armor and dragon helms may be just the standard for all Targaryens, but I find it interesting that ONLY Rhaegar and Daemon are specifically said to have this kind of armor. We don't get descriptions for anyone else, just these guys. Hmmmmm.....the plot thickens!
