I'm terrified how they're handling this. Ned is dead, so it's no longer a fever dream (emphasis GRRM's) if they present it as a vision. I think they're going to play it straight and give us the scene as it really happened. Meaning there is going to be something quite different there from what Ned dreams about. Not sure what it could be, but I think were all gonna do this after we see it. ETA and yes, I'm nail biting about how they're going to handle it too because everything so far points to Lyanna being there.

We'll have to listen very carefully to see if any of them are identified by name. And if anyone is found in the tower, I am expecting it to be Ashara.

Thats because Ghost is now Jon. Seriously, I'm taking that as Jon was Ghost, as it should be, before his body came back to life.

I suppose they could do something like "Ambiguous and strangely echoing scream in the background. Cut to black." If it's just that, I could deal with it. If they add sounds of a baby, I might lose it. ETA although I have said a few times that the show might push RLJ just so they can shock later on with the truth - much like GRRM (and Ran) have done

LOL I'd actually have no problem with a baby being there, I just... I have no idea what to expect from the scene. There is a lot that can remain ambiguous with "Ned's fever dream" and not so much with "Bran witnesses what really happened at the ToJ."

As long as Ned doesn't name the child, I think I'll be ok. If he even so much as whispers Jon, in an ambiguous way, maybe I'll still be ok, but if he picks up a baby and names it Jon... Mind you, I've been telling myself that it's just D&D's interpretation of the text, not canon, not canon!

I hope they're specific. Don't tease us like they did with Hodor!

I hope they're specific. Don't tease us like they did with Hodor! I actually hope they do the opposite and leave it very ambiguous. What I'm expecting is that next week will show the fight at the tower of joy, and then the week afterwards they will show Eddard at Lyanna's death bed, and perhaps the week after that will show Eddard bringing baby Jon to Winterfell. If they piece it together that way, it will create a presumption that Lyanna gave birth to Jon in the tower, but will leave enough ambiguity to allow for a surprise later on.

I hope you are correct, freyfamilyreunion. A mystery meat instead of farm raised tenderloin.
