Doesn't episode 2 trailer show Bran gasping? Maybe it's a horn howl? Mel I spoilered your comment. Preview discussions should be spoilered, not everyone watches them. It looked more like him gasping after coming to from skinchanging. His eyes start off white and then they turn normal at the same time as he gasps. Wonder what he saw.

I did like that they included MMD's prophecy in there, about her not being able to have children until sun rises in west and sets in the east. Well the sun of Dorne just set in the west, so that seems to go against the theories of Quint being the sun setting in the east. Symbolically Dorne's sun set. Geographically Dorne is on the east side of Westeros, so the sun did set in the east. The rise of the Greyjoys from the west should represent the sun rising in the west. The show hasn't done as much with the Greyjoys, so I wonder how they will show that?

That's what I meant by gasping. He just came out of a warging/skinchanging experience and was shocked by what he saw, and I'm thinking it was of Jon's assassination. The direwolves would be howling. Maybe Summer is close enough to the Wall for us to hear his howl?

Well the sun of Dorne just set in the west, so that seems to go against the theories of Quint being the sun setting in the east. Dorne could be considered east or west of the Vaes Dothrak. From Dany's location or if you consider her location as a kind of crossroads; then the sun of Dorne could be interpreted as setting in the east. While Tyrion left Illyrio's manse by the Sunrise Gate; so the sun rising in the west or westerly part of Essos? Mel seems to be having a crisis of faith. She has removed all the trappings and gone to bed. Something the red lot never do. They stay up all night refusing to sleep or dream. I'm not sure what this all means considering the teaser showing a different red woman. But of course this is the show, anything could happen. Guarding Jon's body is a little odd. Why hasn't Jon turned wightified by now? He is very, very dead. Did Varamyr notice what happened to his body? Yep, my favorite bit was Brienne and Sansa taking the pledge.

Also the fate of Myrcella and Tommen. Something tells me that this will be different in the book. Although Maggie tells Cersei that their shrouds and crowns will be gold; it doesn't necessarily mean that they will have an untimely death. Maggie could have been yanking her chain for amusement.
In Jamie's dream of Brienne and the swords in the caverns; he sees Cersei, Tywin and Joffrey but not Tommen and Myrcella. This occurs before the purple wedding, so this seems to me a forshadowing dream and not just about Brienne in danger in the bear pit.

Well the sun of Dorne just set in the west, so that seems to go against the theories of Quint being the sun setting in the east. Even though I knew one of the interpretations of this was a death of a Martell, I didn't realize how obvious the connection was supposed to be in the show Good catch. I thought the ENORMOUS SUN on the sails of the ship was so cheesy. Now, more like necessary. Mel seems to be having a crisis of faith. She has removed all the trappings and gone to bed. Something the red lot never do. They stay up all night refusing to sleep or dream. I'm not sure what this all means considering the teaser showing a different red woman. But of course this is the show, anything could happe I missed this as a finer point of the scene. Could this be the end of her? Guarding Jon's body is a little odd. Why hasn't Jon turned wightified by now? He is very, very dead. Did Varamyr notice what happened to his body? Agreed. It makes no sense that members of the NW aren't more concerned about burning the body if only for the fact they know the dead can become wights South of the Wall. Why guard it anyway? If anything, Alliser should have demanded the body in order to burn it. Seems to me that the show writers have made of point of eliminating the possibility of Mel resurrecting Jon. Which leaves my much more preferred method, that Bran is involved somehow, or Jon is "Coldhanded" or "Othered" instead. I don't recall Varamyr paying much attention to his body after it died.

It also occurs to me that Stannis' death wasn't properly addressed either, just that offhand comment by Roose asking who struck the death blow. The following is based on the preview Based on the small bit I did see of the preview, Ramsay, who has a history of sending body parts, might make some better use of Myranda's body than feeding her to the dogs. She's similar enough to Sansa in age. We know he knows Jon is LC at the Wall.
Myranda will become the Red Letter, so to speak, prompting Jon Other Snow to march on Winterfell? Will he pretend it's Arya, thinking Sansa might make it to Jon first? Hrm.

Oh I like that idea. Jon's watch is ended and there is no further obligation to the Watch. A showdown with Ramsey seems certain and I'm so looking forward to it. Although Sansa might beat Jon to it.

Something major just occurred to me, wondering along the lines of "how can obliterating House Martell serve the endgame of the show writers?" and I had forgotten my own damned theory.
House Martell isn't obliterated because Samwell Tarly is alive and well and heading home to Horn Hill where, I've predicted, he's gonna learn he was "adopted."

But then we need another sun to symbolically rise in the west, and the Greyjoys have no sun symbolism to them. I agree with you though that they are the new Targs. The only other house I can remember having a sun in their sigil is Karstark, the white sunburst. But again, they're on the east coast of Westeros.

we need another sun to symbolically rise in the west Tystane dies in the East. Samwell Tarly rises in the West.

I'm not sure what this all means considering the teaser showing a different red woman. Her crisis started when half Stannis' troops deserted after she burned Sheireen. Then Selyse's suicide, and the colossal loss in battle. She came back to Castle Black a broken woman. She even says something similar to what she said to Stannis, that what she saw in the flames of winning the battle, but this time about Jon. So two huge strikes and she's broken. I have a sneaky suspicion though that her visions weren't false, they were mistimed. She judged when they would happen wrong, not that they wouldn't happen.

Didn't watch that episode from season five until after last night's premier. He maybe ded. Or not. I'm looking for him to show up again in some capacity.
