Anyone else think 'Hagrid!' when Wun Wun was knocking on the doors to Castle Black?

I think we'll see that ultimately Bran was responsible for Hodor's hodoring - he goes back in time to try and help him/prevent "it", but paradoxically causes "it". Bran the Timelord! .I'm excited to see how this works and what the Late Lord Frey's reaction will be to the death of his daughter and loss of connection to the North. First question, who is that Maester and why don't I know who he is? Second question, doesn't "poisoned by our enemies" ring false? Which enemies? Walda and baby Bolton "eaten by our enemies dogs." ?? Who can they pin the blame on, and will Walder believe it?

The Euron thing...nice to see D&D use some text from the book, but had I been Unsullied watching this, I would have no idea what the hell was happening - some dude claiming to be Balon's brother, a dude who looks about 40 years younger, shows up and starts babbling about being a god before tossing his bro off a bridge? Huh? In the books, of course, Euron's physical appearance is couched in sorcery, but the show seems like it will gloss over that for the most part. I'm assuming that viewers will get Euron's full backstory in future eps - I hope so at least, otherwise this will just be something of a head-scratcher for a storyline that many viewers already don't like that much. Yeap. I was expecting a setup for Euron to appear on screen later. It wasn't bad, but like you say non-book readers might be perplexed. Of course with Theon heading home I don't know where they are going with the Iron Isles story. Is Victarion gonna show up or what

Theon heading home I don't know where they are going with the Iron Isles story. Is Victarion gonna show up or what Maybe Theon will arrive in time to play Victarion to Euron? They've got to do the whole kingsmoot thing and he could arrive in time to fall in line under Euron. He's too weak and unpopular to stake his claim as Balon's heir, but it still works to show various claimants for the Seastone Chair.

I have this sneaking suspicion that Theon is not going home but means to sacrifice himself. He might be leaving Sansa to throw the hunters off her trail. I don't see anything in imdb for Victarion casting. So Asha and the Damphair are the only opposition to Euron mayhaps?

"The bones help," Said Melissandre. "The bones remember. The strongest glamors are built of such things. A dead man's boots, a hank of hair, a bag of fingerbones. With whispered words and prayer, a man's shadow can be drawn forth from such and draped about another like a cloak. The weearer's essence does not change, only his seeming."
Just remembered this. Hmmmm.

Jon is Ghost and Ghost is Jon But is he the holy ghost? Found this article from 2011. Comments about Arya and changing one's identity very interesting. Also GRRM's comment that characters will be thinned out and then brought back together. You may have seen it; but I have not. Interview

I haven't gotten the chance to rewatch the episode, but doesn't Mel say something like she doesn't know if it's a good idea to bring Jon back because they aren't the same upon rebirth? That was the gist of what I understood her telling Davos, but I've already forgot how she put it. This is the trouble with watching the show with company, too many of us commenting while watching.
In any case, Jon is going to be like a combo of Coldhands and Lady Stone Heart, neither one a whole a person and both driven by purpose.

I don't recall her saying that at all. That's the problem with crappy sound on my tv. I have to try and watch it again. But I think it's something that Beric brought up when Mel questioned him in the show's version of events. In the book, it's Arya.
Driven by purpose!! Terrible purpose and terrible knowledge. Implacable and cruel. With a face as still as the pool in front of the godswood tree at Winterfell. (Arya's description of Jon in GoT.)

Ok so I watched it again, this time solo, and what Mel, said that I misinterpreted, is the part where she says to Davos, 'If you want to help him, leave him be.' And then she says she'd met a person brought back, 'the priest shouldn't have that kind of power.' but she mumbles and I heard 'the priest shouldn't have done that.' So to my idea of Mel not wanting to bring Jon back for existential reasons.

Also, during the funeral scene, the stone eyes on Myrcella are the ones that Tystane was painting. I don't get how the Sand Snakes have disappeared though. If FrankenGregor can find some random bloke with junk the length of billy club and smash his head like a watermelon, how the hell have 2 girls, dressed like ballerina assassins, just get lost in the crowd so tightly watched? BTW, Tyrion needs to have a better dialogue written for him. He went from witty and snide, to infantile and bland. Varys on the other hand, gave a superb performance and no one noticed. That actor is brilliant. And of course I have no clue on his name.
