Just a friendly reminder --
If you're going to discuss the previews for the next episode, please use spoiler tags. If an event has been shown as going to happen (promotional scene or photo/news discussion in the media) then this information needs to be in spoiler tags too. You can speculate freely on future episodes as long as it's not based on the known via shown images or reliable news sources. Remember, if you want to talk about what may happen without having to use spoilers, just go to the corresponding episode's thread and chat away.
Enjoy the show!

Ok so imdb listed a certain someone to be returning to the show, but not under his usual character name. It has since been removed. Is this a case of the 'Night's King' or a case of 'Lady Stoneheart' do you all wonder?

I guess you mean Benjen Stark ? It has to be the original character, or it doesn't make any sense?

I guess you mean Benjen Stark ? It has to be the original character, or it doesn't make any sense? Not if it's him as Coldhands. I can see them using him as a substitute to that character. Instead of leading them to the cave, he rescues them from the wights and WWs. Can't remember now what name the actor's credit was listed by.

Now that the resurrection theme is out of the bag for the Unsullied, we may yet get Lady Stoneheart too.

I need a rewatch but... that was pretty quick with Arya leaving the HoBaW. Needle!
And Cold Benjen Hands saved by a sliver of dragon-glass in his heart? Huh?

Still mixing in books 5 and a hint of 4 (and 1) throughout this season. When I think that the show is covering new ground, the next scene abuses me of that idea. I'm sure there is a nugget of truth somewhere in there with Sam and Margery. Arya's storyline is good but the waif equivalent does not make sense. The Faceless do not seek vengeance or kill people they know personally. WTF. I hope Arya performs some tight needle work on that loon. Benjen as Coldhands, I'm not buying bookwise. The creation story of Cold Benjen as similar the story of the Night King (white walkers), I can see that being possible.

Anybody tired of Dany and her "epic moments." Anybody??? I'm stil pissed off about the Direwolves so the Dragons get no love from me.
Mix bag for me.The Benjen/Bran scene and its contents i'm not buying because it makes no sense. So the 3ER sent for him? What the frack has he been doing all this time....Chillin?
The best part of this episode was what i assume is Margery making a power move.
What was the payoff for Arya going to Braavos? This better payoff with her stealing some faces and heading back to Westeros.
Sam Tarly you need to grow a vagina.

Finally got to watch...
- Benjen was saved from magic caused by the WW's sword in the gut? I sincerely hope he means the Child saved him from being wighted. 'Before the magic could take hold' what? If he was dead, there is little the Children could do to raise him as a wight.
- Sam saying they will teach Gilly to read. Do the writers have amnesia? Shireen taught her to read, so much so she knows the difference between see and sea. And Randal is just as much an arse as in the books.
- Arya is not now, nor will she ever be no one. One of the things I think made her save the lead is not only the conversation (do you enjoy pretending to someone else?) is also the fact folks like Cersei regularly kill to get ahead are exactly like the other actress. If Arya kills the lead, then she's condoning those that manipulate the world through dead to their advantage.
- So Margaery and Tommen are both holy rollers now. Seems legit. Pity Cersei didn't try that ploy, she'd've saved herself a walk.
- Frey is sooo in for it. Roose already lost his life at his hands son, who or what will take Lord Frey? Brienne or Pod? Maybe his daughter if she's at all grown to love her husband.
- The fact they showed Aerys II is quite the revelation. Is it because of Jaime's tale, or did someone whisper in his ear?
- Samwell you thief! Good on ya.
- I would've loved a speech from Dany that didn't include the assumption of the entire Dothraki being part of Khal Drogo's khalisaar. They know who you are the widow of, now leave the poor sod and the promises he made you (which incidentally were by no means universally accepted) be, and just win the hearts and minds of these guys. You've shown them the stick, now give them the carrot. Oh and let's hope how she killed him after he was khal of only the weak and the slaves doesn't get out. That could be embarrassing.
Need to rewatch for details, but all in all not a the worst episode. Had it not followed Hodor's espisode, it would've been considered a good one.

If he was dead, there is little the Children could do to raise him as a wight. I guess the fire of the obsidian cancelled out the wound made by ice sword? Sam saying they will teach Gilly to read I didn't hear that...but I heard Sam tell Gilly that baby Sam would be taught to read and that Gilly could help. It was still interesting to watch, but I have a hard time believing these will be the outcomes in the books. Drogon is so huge now! Euron may end up being burned like Quentyn. If that happens, then the show is nothing like the books. Edited to add: after reading that new chapter transcript Euron is one evil bastard tying his own brother to the prow of his ship along with his pregnant girlfriend. And whats up with collecting priests of every religion? I'm still trying to figure out Bloodraven's inversion to this.
Speaking of inversions, that's what I would have asked GRRM...although he says he confirms nothing...I would have asked him at least if there is a wheel of time at play and if it's currently in reverse.
