Pretty convenient that Dany needs 1,000 ships and Euron is making 1,000 ships out of nothing, instantly. Ugh.
Also bothersome - where are Jon, Sansa et al heading? Brienne didn't even take off for the Riverlands to snag the Blackfish yet. And it seems that the Riverrrun troops are going to be pretty busy. This has to be a set up for something. White Harbor maybe? Benjen leading Bran south of the Wall to find where he needs to confront the NK? So confusing, they dropped the ball on the story line making sense.
Walder didn't mention Fat Walda and his grandson/his partial claim on Winterfell/the North being literally murdered? Yeah OK. I'd think that the Bolton betrayal is far worse than losing Riverrun but what do I know.
I still don't get the Benjen scene - saving him from becoming a wight by putting a shard of obsidian in his heart which seems to be the same way the WWs are created? huh?
More later but my favorite lines of the show (of course) were Lady Tarly talking about Sam being a scholar, and Gilly telling Sam that his father has no idea who he is. Mwahahahaaa.

More later but my favorite lines of the show (of course) were Lady Tarly talking about Sam being a scholar, and Gilly telling Sam that his father has no idea who he is. The Rogue Randall Tarly is fast becoming one of my top mysteries. The show dropped in a few things like that that made me go . Methinks an essay may be in order...

I didn't hear that...but I heard Sam tell Gilly that baby Sam would be taught to read and that Gilly could help. Quite possibly I misheard that bit. There was a great deal of noise from other folk that don't watch the show in the background.

Was it from being a wight or from death? I'm so confused by this*. Either way a sword to the gut or a shard of glass to the heart would pretty much finish him. If it didn't, then why is Ben aiding the new 3ER, when the last guy we saw that happen to no love for either the Children or BR? *If this is the way the unsullied have been feeling for 5 and a half seasons, why on earth have they continued to watch? I'd've given up by now.

"He is alive again now" combined with "it's time for you to become me" almost entirely clinches for me that Brandon becomes Brynden during one of his past lives.

this is the one that needs talking about Ned's hand. Woman's hand by her side. Obvious wounds to lower torso - that's not just childbirth. Caesarian? Redrum?

I'll have to rewatch, but couldn't that be Talisa at the RW with Robb's hand? The whole thing went by so quick, I don't recall if we revisited the ToJ scene. All the glimpses, Aerys, WWS and Dany all had a continuing story kind of thing going on. So what if this is an RW scene?

Robb isn't wearing that type of leather sleeve, and is never on the right side of Talisa, though the gown looks similar. Maybe a deliberate conflation? We all ranted about the inclusion of "Talisa, murdered at the RW while pregnant with Robb's heir" but maybe it was supposed to parallel what happened in the Tower? We get Young Ned asking about his sister in the vision - from the show tower scene. Back in the day I kicked around that since Rhaegar foresaw Aegon being TPTWP, he could also foresee his son's enemies. His fire heir would be destined to fight the Ice heir, and he tried to tip the hand. Actually that was a lot of the basis for my Jon=Aegon theory. /random

Are all the Aerys flashbacks the cuts from the original unused premiere, or are those new?

Ok then, I think it must be young Ned and Lyanna. There's imagery of Lyanna as the unavenged victim of a violent crime in the books. Her weeping blood and the girl all covered in gore both point to not death in childbirth but having been killed. My one big fear is like most TV that plays to the masses, meaning the producers need to account for the hard of thinking, they will make the blood of childbirth visible from the front. Now unless, like you say it was a caesarian, and there was little point in sewing her back up, there's no reason whatsoever for her to have blood there. I was present when my son was born, so I know first hand, blood (like everything else on the planet) flows downward, and there was a lot of it due to complications that nearly ended in both their deaths. Even giving birth while squatting wouldn't produce that effect on the front of a dress. Others here can definitely give a better account of where blood ends up after childbirth, but I'd bet it's not on the front of a dress.

I'm also randomly considering now, if that scene is supposed to parallel Robb and his wife/heir, maybe it was Ashara in the tower, murdered. Always been a big believer in Ned/Ashara having a baby, but still liking the idea that their baby was deliberately switched with Aegon, and (they believed) killed in his place during the Sack.

Are all the Aerys flashbacks the cuts from the original unused premiere, or are those new? It's new material. I read earlier in entertainment weekly that those scenes were new ones.
