The human being is a self-propelled automaton entirely under the control of external influences. Willful and predetermined though they appear, his actions are governed not from within, but from without. He is like a float tossed about by the waves of a turbulent sea.

But I think it works just as well against RLJ.

-- Jeffrey Guhin, against not just RLJ, but any complex ASOIAF theory whose creator assigns it anything resembling 100% probability A very good example of this is the absolute failure of the scientific community to accept the reality of continental drift (now called plate tectonics) from about 1910-1960. Of course, there are theories that aren't so complex or controversial. For instance, the theory that the Wall took hundreds of years to be completed, and thousands to reach its present height, seems extremely well established based on GRRM's direct statement to that effect. But RLJ is not remotely so simple or so easily established. No theory of Jon's parents is as far as I know, except the one in GRRM's head.

I want to give that a Like, jnr, but I can't. I just can't. Okay? Because it's just wrong. Wrong. Okay?
