Idea: In a post that has been edited - put date of edit at top of post rather than at the bottom. I am reading melifeathers posts on eating the dragons tail and I scroll to the bottom of the post to see last edit - and I think it would be more pleasing at the top of the post.

That would be good, wouldn't it. Unfortunately I don't think that's something we can change. It's ProBoards that controls things like that, it's part of the make up of the site itself. I will have a look around the add-ons that customise sites and see if I can find something that might make it possible to have the edit date placed on the top.

I do edit those essays a lot, the reason being that something else clicks in a later chapter that would help with an earlier chapter. For instance, I need to go back and revise the Iron Captain to make Victarion Bittersteel instead of Aerys I and II. I'm happy to insert an edited date at the top each time I do so.
