This author seems typical of media commentators. Just has no idea what he's talking about. The odds of this happening as described are about as high as the odds of Ghost riding a horse in battle.

From the link above -- Nice. Why not kick the man in the bollocks too, while you're at it.

I think they're super excited about the big military battle scene.

This is the exact case I've been making forever. Made it yesterday in the show area.

USA Today never disappoints with it's inanity. But there are a couple of interesting tidbits here. First, Sophie Turner, however lovely, truly is a dumb as a box of rocks. Honestly Sophie, have you any grasp of your character at all? Second, of all the perks to boast about being President of the US, I'd say this one is might actually be worth the bother, heh.

This is the exact case I've been making forever. Made it yesterday in the show area. I caught that too, but I thought that was the stupidest thing they said in an article not exactly praisable for its intelligence. No, really? Well, we'd have to be retarded not to, dontcha think?

No, really? Well, we'd have to be retarded not to, dontcha think? Well, I can't begin to guess how many times I've seen fans argue the exact opposite: "Season six is going to spoil us for TWOW because the books and the show have to be basically the same on all the important points, or else it's not even the same story, blah blah blah." Sometimes it's phrased like this: "I'm going to have to stop watching the show and reading the forums because I don't want to be spoiled for the books." Still comes up all the time -- most fans still don't get that Show World ≠ Book World. But Show World ≠ Book World means it's all up for change. We have no way to know what is changed and what is not. Already, tremendous things have been changed -- Sansa and Brienne's whole plotlines after ASOS, for instance. Beyond the deliberate change, I don't think GRRM has even told D&D all of the most important stuff. His position in interviews is usually some version of "I've told D&D some things. They know certain things." -- which certainly doesn't sound like he dumped it all on the table. So while I'm confident that we're going to see the Wall fall and Westeros collectively say "oh, shit" and unify to create an effective response, including Dany and whatever she brings to Westeros, that's about as much as I'm sure the books and show will share.

He wouldnt show all his cards when he's been keeping them close for twenty years. Plus he hadn't even written the rest of the story so how could D&D copy what is not yet written? Broad strokes, yeah. There will be battles and some characters will dies somewhere along the way. And there will be fire chucking cotf.

And there will be fire chucking cotf. A good example of just how far off the mark D&D can get. I still think their continuity guy should've been slapped around for that... Bryan Cogman.

I know, right!
It makes me think of Varamyr's recognition of another warg when he thinks, WARG!
