WOW! You're all frikkin amazing!! I am just simply not as versed in the lore to add anything of significance. I will say that I favor NAJ and Ashara going icognito to Essos. I would cite Ned's behavior with Cersei when he discovers her secret and confronts her telling her to get as far away as possible with her children. The recurring theme that the seed is strong is turned back on Ned when Cersei tells him that she has seen his son and who is he to judge her. Among other things too mundane to mention.

To lazy to look it up but isn't one of the Manderly girls coloring her hair? Because it's Targaryen blonde? That would be Wylla Manderly.

Basically it makes much more sense that Ned picked up a baby at Starfall then at the Tower of Joy and took a ship from Starfall to the North. A likely endpoint would be White Habor. It would also make sense for Ned to have someone like Wylla accompany him so the baby could be fed. And maybe he took Ashara's daughter as well? She is currently dying her hair green and goes by the name of Wylla because the Manderlys assume her to be her mother? Wylla then returned from White Harbor to Starfall so she wouldn't be seen at Winterfell.

around Sunspear and all the ports loyal to the Martells (unless Doran is involved, and then just land at their port) Ned: I would sooner trust a child to a pit viper than to Tywin Lannister perhaps he did I will swear until the last page of ASOIAF that the purpose of this Davos/Borrell exchange and of the intro of Fisherman's Daughter in the first place is to establish Ned's attempt to smuggle a woman OUT of Westeros/the Vale and to the Narrow Sea. The "bag of silver" is payment for passage on a pirate/merchant ship. For sure, the payment was not for sexual services, or even for the impending unknown birth of a bastard. It was for something else. Ship passage makes the most sense, absolutely. Having Davos to be the one to find out this information is telling. He was a smuggler, not a pirate. Extra bonus points if there's also smuggling of a Rhaegar heir in the mix too, one that could be sheltered at White Harbor. Horn Hill eventually but I digress he already knew where she was, because he helped get her there. The show clinched that for me. Ned knew exactly where to find her, whether by bringing her there himself, or entrusting her to someone else, who told him where she would be. the main island is not just "sister", but SWEET Sister....the sarcastic and derisive term for hated female siblings series-wide Hrm. While I'm still officially predicting that Jon's father will be Howland Reed !! Would love to know more about this. BEAR ISLAND. HOUSE MORMONT. I need to absorb this but lemmetellya, this keeps sneaking into almost every pot we crack. Lynesse is the link between Walys and the Mormonts, and Walys is the link between the Starks and the Hightowers, it's a symbiotic thing and it's real.

Should also mention we have another aptly named teenager. Elia Sand. Who happens to be very... horsey. And likes sparring. Elia Sand, Wylla Manderly and Lyanna Mormont. Children of three? ETA: Is Elia Sand the child that Ned entrusted to a pit viper??

Ned: I would sooner trust a child to a pit viper than to Tywin Lannister perhaps he did Noyce! I didn't even catch that one. For sure, the payment was not for sexual services, or even for the impending unknown birth of a bastard. It was for something else. Ship passage makes the most sense, absolutely. Lynesse is the link between Walys and the Mormonts, and Walys is the link between the Starks and the Hightowers, it's a symbiotic thing and it's real. Just thought of something here....that map I posted showing the positioning of the lands belonging to Ned's companions? I was looking at it again and wondering again why these houses and their locations are important for a western border defense, and then it hit me. I'll list them again, and show the map. Ned (Winterfell), Howland (the Neck), William Dustin (Barrowlands), Ethan Glover (Deepwood Motte), Martyn Cassell (lands north of Winterfell), Theo Wull (mountains by Bay of Ice), and Mark Ryswell (the Rills) It's not a western border defense. Look at the lands. LOOK AT THEM. Start with the Bite, and the Three Sisters. Head north and west....you hit Moat Cailin, flanked by GREYWATER WATCH (Reed) and invincible to invasion from the south. Keep going north and west. BARROWLANDS (Dustin). North and west again...skip around Torrhen's Square, and cross into THE RILLS (Ryswell). Head into the Wolfswood, with protection of WINTERFELL (Stark, Cassell) to the east toward DEEPWOOD MOTTE (Glover). Cross the BAY OF ICE (Wull). Where do you end up? ? This is SO a thing.

Where do you end up? ? It's a blinking neon KEEP OUT sign fer Pete's sake! I need to *shake fist* at the Mormont's from now on! Jorah was enscorcled, I'm sure of it. Charmed, bewitched, however you want to call it. He was charmed to win the Tourney. Maybe it was a trial run.Do you remember a theory, I forget how it went, about Mance possibly having a charm on him from his cloak?

Do you remember a theory, I forget how it went, about Mance possibly having a charm on him from his cloak? I don't remember that, but funny you should mention Mance, because if you cross the Bay of Ice under Wull protection and actually avoid Bear Island, look where your next logical destination is. THE SHADOW TOWER.

THE SHADOW TOWER.yes yes, the cog from Asshai that had the silk that was used to mend Mance's cloak crashed in the Bay of Ice, and I have no idea where I'm going with this. The Shadow Tower is where the rangers who knew the wise woman who healed Mance and gave him his cloak came from. yes yes yes yes yes
