Come over there. linkOh I meant the Heresy poster with the name Tower of Joy, he had a habit of responding to everything that was posted the night before and then getting a whole page full of just his posts. But the name is fitting, no? And thanks. I'll go over there as soon as I refill my coffee. (Yeah, yeah, so I drink coffee until early afternoon, deal with it.)

There's a new book excerpt posted on GRRM's page. I posted a link in the A Song of Ice and Fire News.

And I do that sometimes, myself. Don't care if anyone is responding at the time.

Jorah says he buried it himself. You have no idea how long I pondered this... I can't find where he ever said that. Was this in the show??

Jorah says he buried it himself. You have no idea how long I pondered this... I can't find where he ever said that. Was this in the show?? Gah, I can't find the passage myself. Sorry that tormented you, was not intentional. Most likely I heard it on the show, since they are so insistent that Targs be buried. Now I think on it, why do they say Targs are buried? Is there danger (a la Dany) in burning a Targ? Or is it simply in Show!World, Targs are flameproof? Therefore can't be burned.

I think I have to go with Howland looking for items to take back to family members rather than looting his own pals.

I think I have to go with Howland looking for items to take back to family members rather than looting his own pals. I certainly hope so. But can we say that with any certainty about a man that sneaks up and stabs another in the back? And another thing, this can't be how it played will play out in the books because Ned thinks highly of Howland, and Ned would never think highly of someone who does such a dishonourable thing.

The waif doesn't smack Arya when she says she has a "half-brother"

The waif doesn't smack Arya when she says she has a "half-brother" Holy cow! What a catch. Half-brother not cousin.

I feel like there is a parallel between Jon and Ser Arthur. Their oaths were broken when they were killed. "Now it begins, now it ends." My watch begins and now it is ended.
I say this because of Brienne who says her oath is still in force even though Catelyn is dead. I think the same thing with the 3 kingsguard; that they have to maintain their oath until death regardless of whether Rhaegar is dead or not. In that sense, Ned is the breaker of Arthur's oath.

Yeah, I'm still trying to work out who the oathbreaker was in this episode...

Yeah, I'm still trying to work out who the oathbreaker was in this episode... Ser Allister, Olly and the other officers? Could be. I thought maybe Jon too, since he abandons the NW. But technically he's not breaking any oath, since he died, his watch ended. It's just strange that this season the titles don't match what happens in the episode much. In the past, the titles usually referred to several things within the episode, like a running theme. This episode breaks that cycle. Hey wait, is that what it means? Because the fourth episode doesn't seem to match anything that happens.
