...why was it tradition to put a dragon egg in a baby cradle? Maybe more than just tradition? If Rhaegar had an egg in his cradle at Summerhall... hrm, So, green and bronze, cream and gold, black and scarlet. Green like the Dothraki sea for bronze skinned Rheago; creme and gold for Viserys; black for Drogo or black and scarlet for Rhaegar? I don't know, I'm confused now. LOL. Dany sees Drogo ascend to the stars on a grey stallion. Did he go into the egg? But she does have a visions of Rheago, Viserys and Rhaegar in the HoU. - Viserys screamed as the molten gold ran down his cheeks and filled his mouth. - A tall lord with copper skin and silver-gold hair stood beneath the banner of a fiery stallion, a burning city behind him. - A room where a silver-haired man (presumably Rhaegar Targaryen) names his son Aegon, says the child is "the prince that was promised", then plays a harp. - and, A dying prince (likely Rhaegar Targaryen) mutters a woman's name with his last breath, rubies flying from his chest. Also Viserys keeps asking her if she wants to wake the dragon. This is what MMD says will happen. She will wake powers old and dark; the man wreathed in flame... Is there an egg with silver markings somewhere? Aegon V had an egg that was green with white swirls.

One last thought and then I have to get some sleep. Drogo had black hair, eyes and bronze skin; while Rhaegar wore black armor with rubies (so black and scarlet - armor is like a shell). Perhaps naming the black dragon Drogo is a misdirect. Dany doesn't see Drogo in the HoU; but they try to chain Danyr and her dragons for a thousand, thousand years.Although that would mean that there isn't another dragon's egg. That would leave N+A=J, the blue flower blooming at the wall; R+L=A, the man with a harp and the woman with a babe; and R+A=D; the slain knight at the trident, rubies spraying like blood, whispering a woman's name.

What if "When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east" means "when time runs backwards"? I'm trying to make sense of this too. My first thought was that the wheel is starting over from the very beginning, like it's been reset. Lets try this: Magic exists Magic is containedFirst Men arriveFirst Men are long goneIce magic is abused, fire magic is used to counter it.Blood magic is usedThe First Storm Lord stole Elenei (magic) from the godsThe Storm Lord killed the moonmaid (Robert kidnapped Lyanna, she ends up dead)The Andals arrive? The door is closed on magic and the hinge is wardedThe warding is unraveled, the hinge flips open, magic returnsThe Rhoynar arrive?Dragons and direwolves slowly die outDragons and direwolves return, Dany is original mother of dragons, original direwolf mother is killed by the Storm Lord, pups survive.
Aegon the ConquerorEuron sails for dragonsIs the above making any sense? "When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. I can see how this might refer to the comet crashing sending a giant tsunami large enough to show the bottom of a body of water. And magic is carried on the wind. I think Dany is the mother of dragons from a long line of dragons and conversely the original mother of dragons. She must remember who she is. I think this is simply brilliant! I'll jump out on a limb and say the starless sky is a vision of the Long Night, where the sky cannot be seen and the stars are blacked out. When mountains blow and the seas dry up. Another brilliant thought. MMD knew what would happen to Rheago. He had been dead for years. Yes. If the wheel of time has restarted, Dany is at a genesis point, whereas Rhaego is at the opposite end of the wheel. I'm thinking MMD opened the hinge when she awakened powers old and dark. Magic returned before she worked the blood magic. It had to have been, unless blood magic has to be done sequentially or repeatedly. If they were performing blood magic with Rhaegar in the tower of joy, that would be an earlier blood magic ritual. Dany's would be the second, and I think Euron was involved in one too. And also the wildling saying about redheads: kissed by fire. There is something about redheads. It has come up in The Reaver chapter, which I haven't completed, and we also have Ygritte. So I guess Jon Snow "knows nothing" now, eh? It is ironic! Perhaps...or it's restarted from the beginning. it's almost like a glamour being broken, when she passes to beyond the Wall, to find Drogo and Rhaego in their normal state. That would be mind bending! How will he write this so that the larger audience will grasp this?

Sorry to harp on this business about the black dragon; doesn't Dany also have a dragon dream; the dragon sings to her. Is this another allusion to Rhaegar?

I'd like to revise this, because the different invading cultures represent four turns of the wheel of time. Each turn is a little different depending upon the invader.
First Men - Magic exists Andals - Magic is contained, religion introduced Rhoynar - ? Targaryens - brought their own magic
First Men - Ice magic is abused Andals - magic is suppressed Rhoynar - water magic was used Targaryens - Fire magic is abused
First Men - The First Storm Lord stole Elenei (magic) from the gods Andals - The Storm Lord killed the moonmaid (Robert kidnapped Lyanna, she ends up dead) Rhoynar - culture is absorbed through intermarriage Targaryen - attempts made to bring for the Prince that was Promised, dragons die out
First Men - The door is closed on magic and the hinge is warded Andal - ? plot revival Rhoynar - ? culture is absorbed Targaryen - Andals rise up again, the warding is unraveled, the hinge flips open, magic returns
First Men - direwolves slowly die out Andal - magic still being suppressed Rhoynar - ? Targaryen - Andal rule unraveling, dragons and direwolves return, Dany is original mother of dragons, original direwolf mother is killed by the Storm Lord, pups survive.

Targaryen - Andal rule unraveling, dragons and direwolves return, Dany is original mother of dragons, original direwolf mother is killed by the Storm Lord, pups survive.
- 3 dragon eggs hatched/ 3 direwolves survive, 2 are killed, 1 missing
- ergo 2 Targs killed, one missing?

The Storm Lord killed the moonmaid (Robert kidnapped Lyanna, she ends up dead) Gut reaction to this, since I'm thinking about the Mummers version. A big deal was made out of Petyr saying "your sister" instead of "Only Cat" to Lysa, before pushing her out the moon door. What if this is a deliberate parallel from D&D, as we're suspecting many of the changes are? Since Robert (and Ned) was fostered at the Eyrie, he would have been familiar with the mood(maid) door. Being pushed out of the moon door seems to me to be the equivalent of jumping (or being pushed) off the top of a tower. So bam, right there, we connect Petyr Baelish and Bael the Bard. Twist is that Baelish saved the moonmaid (Sansa) from being pushed out? So we can connect Lyanna (the sister) or Ashara (a sister) possibly being pushed out the moondoor also? Both associated with towers of course, along with the Stark woman in the Bael story. ETA whoa wait... the moondoor for the moonmaid and the star tower (tower at Starfall in Dorne?) for the starmaid (Ashara?) and the ice tower (winterfell tower) for the ice maid (Bael story) brainstorming, so this leaves a suntower for a sunmaid. Dany.. .a tower or a well/cavern/leap into something. We already have sunmaids associated with towers! Alysanne and the Queen's Crown. Arianne (dorne sun/spear) in the spear tower, etc.

We have the story of Ashara falling from a tall tower. What if it was Lyanna attempted to kill herself in her grief after Ned arrived at Starfall. That would be quite a guilt trip for Ned. What does he see againi? blackened pettles across a blood red sky?

We already have sunmaids associated with towers! Alysanne and the Queen's Crown. Arianne (dorne sun/spear) in the spear tower, etc.
ETA and the Mummers Show wants us to associate sister/tower. The same way Lysa/Sansa (both sisters) are associated with the inverted tower of the moondoor, D&D associated another sister (Lyanna) with a tower.
Obvs GRRM has done the same thing in the books, but since the show concentrates everything...

I haven't really figured out why, but I'm wondering if it's the two maids at the same time? The moonmaid and the sunmaid? Do you think its possible that the layering of two maids being killed, one moon/ice one sun/fire is when the hinge was actually opened?

...or the moon meteor falling from the stars. hmmm, Dawn Sword, a metaphorical link between the two families?
