Well they are going for the fan fav theory I agree. I think D&D fill in their blanks with the most popular fan theories. If they're going to diverge from the books - as both D&D and GRRM admit they are - might as well make the fans happy. Which tells me that what happens in the books may be the polar opposite of the show.

Well, damn, you seem to be implying that whatever GRRM has planned... the everyday fans, and therefore D&D, are too dense ever to figure it out. At least when the book shatters hopes and dreams they"ll have the show. And denial. They'll still have denial. Because GRRM's eighth book (they'll say) could change everything!

Well they are going forbthe fan fav theory that Jon and Dany will lead a united front against wws And so they may, but travel time is so slow in the world, I can't imagine Jon bailing on the entire North to go to Dragonstone, then doubling his travel time to go back. One of the remarks from Heresy that's stuck with me (and that I didn't write) is that the entire series might come and go without Jon ever once going south of the Neck.

One of the remarks from Heresy that's stuck with me (and that I didn't write) is that the entire series might come and go without Jon ever once going south of the Neck. I actually believe this to be true.I also think there are some characters(important ones) who may never meet eachother no matter how much the fans want.By the time the conflict in the south is finished and eyes finally turn north how much of these people will be left alive. For instance,i think Arya has a better chance of heading south than Jon.

Sure. Nymeria's there, for one thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Arya kills Walder Frey (as on the show), just in a more professional and GRRM-like way. The show basically just pasted it in without adequate setup and also borrowed the Rat Cook sequence.
About Jon -- I forgot that on the show, people can teleport around the planet, as Varys did in the last episode. D&D have little/no sense of reality about this stuff. So maybe Show Jon goes to Dragonstone.

So maybe Show Jon goes to Dragonstone. I agree, in show-world it's possible for Jon to go and treat with Dany after she arrives and claims queenship of Westeros and return quickly enough to fight the WWs. If Davos is going there to collect dragonglass, Jon wouldn't need to be there. But if they're asking for help, then only a king would be able to treat with her and cede his kingdom for the help she can provide.

Did you guys read the entirety of the S7 spoilers that the one reddit dude posted? It's Jonerys fanfic, mostly. Jon and Dany will be getting it on while a wighted Viserion melts the Wall with blue flame, wut.
That being said, I have zero doubt that the remaining two seasons will be D&D fanservice. They used to read the Westeros show board, it is known....and now that they don't have an actual book with actual plotlines to obliterate, they're taking the lazy route and cobbling some Qyburn-esque mashup of GRRM Cliff Notes and popular fan theory.
