I've been thinking about the name "hosts" This is a great point. It's a very sci-fi term - from Invasion of the Body Snatchers to Aliens, where the "alien" life takes advantage of an existing organism. Also make me think of viral epidemics. Hrm. Right, the term hosts makes way more sense in that context. Host is not a great term for describing the robots in the park. A large proportion are downright aggressive to guests. A more appropriate term, given the idea of being involved in a narrative, would be something akin to Disney's cast members. Going back to my own point about erasing a sentient host to make room for a human conciousness being at the heart of the disagreement between Ford and Arnold here are two relevant comments: From Some Pig No Doubt above we have "Ford's view that Arnold took a dim view of humanity, preferring hosts over humans" And Ford's comment that "You can't play God without being acquianted with the Devil." Where playing God could easily be construed as giving humans longer / indefinite lives and being acquainted with the Devil could be the "murder" of sentient hosts.

Very interesting approach - going to watch tonight's ep with this in mind. Can we move this train of thought to the E6 thread?

Very interesting approach - going to watch tonight's ep with this in mind. Can we move this train of thought to the E6 thread? No problem with me and probably for the best in case there is anything spoilerish from the new episode. Feel free to move posts if you think it's worthwhile.

God i fell asleep for part of Maeve's 'tweaking'. Did she say: hello Arnold, we're going to have some fun.

I saw the old man in black from the 70's movie version in the background when Bernard was in the older part of the building.
Theresa is a saboteur...what is she up to?

from the 70's movie version I've got to watch this at some point. Good eye. Another great episode! So Boy is Ford - but Arnold made him, and Ford tweaked him. And yes, his opening lines are "are you lost?" And... he learns to kill because Arnold tells him to.

I find the park access system interesting. Elevators pop up and disappear anywhere in the park it seems; even the remote locations.

Even the MiB was like WTH Teddy? It was pretty cool however to see him use the Gatling. Was he partners with Wyatt during the town massacre?
