1. The book opened in the secret section of the Citadel looks like planets twirling around suns or such. I've only watched the episode once, but that was my two second view and shoot from the hip guess. Interesting. I saw flashes of color in a circle, but couldn't get a handle on what they were. Hey Weasel Pie , maybe it's your Hollow Earth diagram!!!! I think I need to be pointed into the direction of the Hollow Earth theory because that sounds much like what that image looks like. As I looked at this a second time, I'm still left with the impression planetary orbits or some form of optics.

Also, why we are on the subject of still frames from the episode, I was also able to capture the image of Tyrion/Petyr's dagger from the book Sam was reading. I was able to zoom in and pretty much read most of the content (unlike the previous one from the secret archives). It's making reference to the Valyrians and Aegon on how they would decorate their dragon steel and the fact that "wealthy houses" would follow the same method. I presume this is nothing more than a nod to the Lannisters dagger and the failed attempt at murdering Bran.

As I looked at this a second time, I'm still left with the impression planetary orbits or some form of optics. Ooh, thank you! I agree, now that I see the closeup, it looks like moon phases. Funny that would be in the soopar seekrit section, though....I wonder why? Just a prop, or deeper meaning? I MUST KNOW... I saw the same thing on a screenshot this morning - frankly, I'm impressed that they went to the trouble of putting real, actual text on that whole page. They were probably embarrassed by the snafu of the White Book a couple of seasons back, when the screengrab revealed a bunch of nonsense. Perhaps they learned their lesson this time - nothing gets past the fans.

The bolded reminds me that I a found an old SSM from George in 2012 that basically confirms Lyanna as Jon's mom: Note that Brandon and Benjen are childless, but Lyanna is just dead. LOL But, that same section also means we have to contend with George's admission that Brandon had no sons. He could be hedging, of course, because there's the other SSM with the caveat that he might have sired a few mutt pups, but it's there to deal with. Really, if we have Starkcest, I think my money would be on Ned. Nah, it's just George being cute again. He doesn't say that Brandon is childless, he just says that Brandon dies before he has sons, plural, so technically he could have had a son, singular, and Georgie is not technically lying, just being incredibly deceptive.

the Sam montage, laughed out loud a couple of times. My first thought was whether or not the cycle of eating, shitting, and sleeping was supposed to be symbolic of the Citadel itself? Personally, I thought the way they had the Hound see into the flames was a bit ham-handed. That needed to be dragged out more, the way they did with Stannis back in whatever season that was. I felt like Sandor stepped in front of the fire and was like, "Oh yeah, there it is." Not enough doubt leading up to the reveal. It's a clumsy way to set Sandor up as becoming reborn in "a faith" so that he can be the Stranger. It's dumb though, because I don't think Beric and Thoros worship the Seven...or do they? And D&D must have gotten the hint to work on Euron, because the Euron that showed up at KL to gross-flirt with Cersei and trash talk Jaime was WAAAY better than the boring one from the Kingsmoot last year. I mean, he's still not the "right" Euron in any way, but the acting and character personality improved drastically. When Euron said he came to see (or was it marry?) the "most beautiful woman in the world" The book opened in the secret section of the Citadel looks like planets twirling around suns or such. I've only watched the episode once, but that was my two second view and shoot from the hip guess. I actually thought I caught sight of the astrolabe hanging from the ceiling in the library in the upper right hand of the tv screen? And of course Cersei blows up the Sept of Baelor with Tyrell royalty, and influential religious figures present and there appears to be no repercussions. You would think at this point Jaime would have finally strangled her with his cold gold hand, but they turned his story arc into a complete circle. My thoughts were, who in hell is she now ruling over now that she's basically destroyed most of her allies? Speaking of which, you think by now they would anticipate the increase volume of users when the HBO show starts up, but they still can't seem to keep the site from crashing. I tried to log on this morning and it's down. Brandon died before he had sons Alternately he could have had a daughter.

BTW...in the trailer for next week it appears that the woman who Ellaria Sand is preparing to kiss is Yara Greyjoy.

Brandon died before he had sons So he died... before they were born? He was dead when they were born? Tricksy.

uh guys? I think HBO is playing us with the same word salad GRRM usually pulls. Pretty sure they're going to play the RLJ game however - they keep talking about the Night King, not the Night's King.
It's the freakin Knight King they're talking about. Whether they're going to make Rhaegar the Knight/King or Bran, not sure yet.
Also, pretty obvious on a rewatch that Sam/Aegon (Rhaegar) rescues an already pregnant Gilly (Lyanna) from events north of the wall where the baby had been targeted for sacrifice. Even if GRRM/D&D play the RLJ game - Rhaegar is not the father. Something/someone beyond the wall is.
Of course the snag in the books is that Gilly's baby was left behind and switched with Mance's (King beyond the wall) baby.
Also in the show, I'm still convinced Tormond is semi-occupied by Mance. At mention of the King beyond the Wall, Tormond can barely sit still, and leaps up.

I finally saw Dr Strange the movie this morning and one thing really stuck out to me: Dr Strange used a time loop to defeat Dormammu. What if the Children created the time loop in order to contain/defeat the Others? S7E1 has Sam feeding the maesters, dumping out their chamber pots, and washing their toilets, over and over and over again. A kind of time loop. Did you notice how old all of the maesters at the Citadel seemed to be?

Is the man in the cell with the burnt arm supposed to be anyone we know? For some unknown reason I want to say it's Stannis.
Edited to add: its Jorah Mormont.
