The story of Eowyn
Eowyn, The White Lady of Rohan, was an adventurous and fearless girl, doomed to care for her possessed uncle Theoden (and then be the leader in his absence after Gandalf performs the exorcism) instead of joining her brother at war. When Aragorn is leaving for the Paths of the Dead, she wants to join him, saying she is weary of skulking in the hills, and wisesh to face peril and battle.
She thinks she's in love with Aragorn, but she's more in love with the idea of adventure and freedom. Aragorn of course is bound to the High Elf Arwen and hopelessly in love with her.
When she finds the chance, she disguises herself as a man named Dernhelm to join the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, accompanied by the hobbit Merry. There, the Witch King of Angmar wounds her Uncle Theoden and then states that no living man may hinder him. Eowyn famously removes her help and says
"No living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomund's daughter. Begone if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him!" "
This freaks the Witch King the fuck out because prophecy. Eowyn lobs off the head of the WK's fell beast, Merry hamstrings the WK using the barrow blade given to him by Tom Bombadil, and Eowyn finishes the job, killing the NK.
Theoden dies, and several members of Aragorn's host are infected, Eowyn included, by contact with the Nazgul, with the Black Breath, which incapacitates the victim and causes a deep unconsciousness that can mimic death. Eowyn's brother Eomer finds her, ostensibly dead, on the battlefield and rejoins the battle with renewed vigor, leading to a reaffirmation of his loyalty to Aragorn (and ultimately a renewal of the Oath of Eorl, an oath of allegiance and friendship).
Aragorn uses his mad skills with Athelas aka Kingsfoil, a healing plant whose power increases when used by a King, to cure Eowyn et all of the Black Breath. She goes on to fall in love with Faramir, realizing her infatuation of Aragorn was only a desire to free herself from what she called her "exile."
Obviously a lot to talk about here, just plug in Lyanna for Eowyn and Aragorn for Rhaegar.
And finally, that although Lyanna and Rhaegar may have been involved in some heavy shit, that ultimately they were not meant to be together.

" 'Shall I always be chosen?' she said bitterly. 'Shall I always be left behind when the Riders depart, to mind the house while they win renown, and find food and beds when they return? [...] All your words are but to say: you are a woman, and your part is in the house. But when the men have died in battle and honour, you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need it no more. But I am of the House of Eorl and not a serving-woman. I can ride and wield blade, and I do not fear either pain or death.'
'What do you fear, lady?' he asked.
'A cage,' she said. 'To stay behind bars, until use and old age accept them, and all chance of doing great deeds is gone beyond recall or desire.' "

Obviously a lot to talk about here, just plug in Lyanna for Eowyn and Aragorn for Rhaegar.
- Theoden: outright possessed by Saruman, and possibly being poisoned by Grima Wormtongue. This brings to mind Mad King Aerys of course, as well as evil possession. Possibly Rickard being "possessed" (skinchanged through the weirnet) and Walys Flowers as his Grima?
- Paths of the Dead: could literally be the Crypts of Wintefell, and a secret passage contained in them. Eowyn herself has no idea that Dunbarrow leads to the Paths until Aragorn tells her there is a passage she doesn't know about. Very strong Lyanna parallel here, as well as a Gendel/Gorne secret tunnel vibe, which as you all know I'm convinced exists, from beyond the Wall right into the crypts of Winterfell.
- Arwen: a magical being as the future Kings ultimate love, not the adventurous noble girl.
- Hobbits: halflings, half-men, children of the forest - not sure. Howland Reed does have parallels to Merry.
- Witch King of Angmar and the Nazgul: Night's King and Others
- Fell Beast: dark, winged creatures bred by Sauron that originally came from an older world
- Barrow Blade: possesses powers that can wound the WK, similar to obsidian
- Black Breath: a condition that mimics death, caused by being in contact with the Nazgul/Others. I think we can compare this to any death with isn't actually a death. Becoming "coldhanded"?
- Athelas: a rare healing plant used for curing Black Breath. Perhaps blue roses are the cure for "coldhandedness" or a condition which is caused by contact with the Nazgul/Others?
- Eowyn has a special association with horses of course as the Rohirrim are horselords. We might also parallel this to the Dothraki in a roundabout way. Eowyn has a bond with her grey horse Windfola. Theoden's horse was Snowmane.
- The Oath of Eorl was between the men of Rohan and the men of Gondor. Brings to mind the Reeds oath to the Starks.
- Eowyn/Dernhel, with Merry: Lyanna may have disguised herself, possibly as a man, in collusion with a crannogman. Lyanna as Knight of the Laughing Tree with Howland?
And finally, that although Lyanna and Rhaegar may have been involved in some heavy shit, that ultimately they were not meant to be together.
