He tells Rosita that he was with her because he thought she was the last woman on earth Caught the episode on repeat last night and this was the best line of the show. Harsh! And who knew you could make delicious cookies with beets and acorns All I could think was Bran and Co. eating acorn paste, and how disgusting it was. have a sneaking suspicion that Negan is the woman from the walkie talkie I thought the same! It's psychological warfare to create doubt and sympathy. Word. The female leader's death scene was brutal, even for TWD. And setting the room full of guyus on fire, jeeeesh. Great season!

Tonight's show just makes me so...mad. They just can't take a break. With the Saviors dead you'd think they can be normal for awhile. Denise wants to venture out to an Apothecary looking for prescription drugs, so she gets Daryl and Rosita to take her. All's kind of well because they found a full pharmacy of drugs, fill up their bags, and make to leave. Before they leave Denise wanders into a back room, presumably to kill a "roamer" as she calls them and sees "something". A roamer lying on the floor with a cast, and a baby crib and the word "hush" written several times on the walls. Then she sees "something" in a sink. Not sure what it's supposed to be, but I think it has something to do with the baby.
On the way in Daryl wanted to avoid the railroad tracks, I suppose they reminded him too much of Terminus, but on the way home...now he wants to take the tracks. Denise spies a cooler in a car with a roamer that nearly bites her face off, but she manages to roll and get on top and kill the thing. Daryl and Rosita are angry with her because they feel she's taking unnecessary risks. They stop to argue about it on the tracks when an arrow shoots right through Denise's eye from behind. The bastard, Dwight that Daryl didn't kill that took his bike and crossbow was aiming for Daryl and got Denise. They've got Eugene, but Abraham is hiding behind some tanks. He and Eugene were out earlier. Eugene wanted to show him a place where he thinks he can manufacture ammunition. They had an argument, because Eugene thinks he can fight now and told Abraham that he no longer needed his services, and Abraham left him behind, but apparently followed him to make sure he was alright. Some remnants of the Saviors or some group had captured Eugene and then told Daryl and Rosita that they were going to be their passage into Alexandria. Eugene directs their attention towards the tanks to cause a distraction and then bites Dwight in his dick and holds on for dear life by his teeth. This gives Abraham, Daryl, and Rosita and opening to raise fire causing the attackers to retreat. Daryl gets his crossbow back, but at the cost of Denise who is lying dead on the tracks with the arrow through her head. Later on Abraham says to Eugene, "“You know how to bite a dick, Eugene,” he said. “I mean that with the utmost of respect.” We had to have at least one memorable line from Abraham, right? He did also comment on Eugene's hair that was pulled back into a ponytail phrasing it as tying back the "Tennessee waterfall".
After they get Eugene back to the relative safety to Alexandria, we hear Carol's voice over reading aloud her goodbye letter. She said she loves Tobin, loves Alexandria and all the people, but she says people will never stop coming to take away what they have and Carol said she'll be forced to kill people in order to protect those that she loves and she says she can't do it anymore. We don't see her leave. She's just gone. One bright note we have Abraham going to Sasha's house and tells her that if they have 30 years together, it'll be too short...and she invites him in.

Not sure what it's supposed to be, but I think it has something to do with the baby. I had the impression that the walker with the broken leg killed the baby. Maybe to "hush" it or maybe to prevent themselves from eating it. Weird scene. They stop to argue about it on the tracks when an arrow shoots right through Denise's eye from behind. "What's the point of this blabbering, this is getti... OH MY GOD!" I mean seriously? She was in danger a few times and got out of it, then that happens. "You know how to bite a dick, Eugene,” Best line of the show. And wtf Carol? She's practically a psychopath, and she decides to get a conscience now?

OH MY GOD DARYL NOOOOOOOO!!! DWIGHT YOU BASTARD!!!
Ok, now that I've gotten that out...let's discuss the obvious symbolism of Michonne's shag-apple. Adam and Eve anyone, with Alexandria as the Garden of Eden? The safety, food, shelter, and community is the forbidden fruit...the Tree of Life that our gang is trying to hang on to and keep Negan and the Saviors out.
Carol is having an identity crisis. When she was the abused wife she realized the only way out was death, and now she doesn't like what she has become. She's the one people should fear, cuz if you dick with Carol or those she loves, she will take you out like a boss. Even while Carol is running away from herself, she sewed an automatic weapon inside the sleeve of her coat, so she had to know that she cannot escape killing.
Daryl felt guilty about Denise's death, because he thinks that it's his fault for letting Dwight live, so he takes off on the hunt with Rosita, Glenn, and Michonne in hot pursuit. You could see what was coming next a mile away, but all we can do is watch helplessly while they're all captured, and Dwight shoots Daryl! Hopefully only in the shoulder, but I really wish Daryl had a gun sewn into his sleeve.
Next week is the 90 minute season finale. Daryl better be alive, Carol found, and Negan revealed!

I would just as soon Negan not be revealed. It's disturbing, thinking of him smashing Glenn's head with a bat.

The apple symbolism could not have been more obvious. Bite the apple, share the apple, nibble the apple, play with the apple, keep the apple on camera, casually lean on the apple... while giving a speech about how perfect everything is. The only use of a prop that could have been more obvious would be a character suggestively fondling a cigar. Oh wait, that happens in the same episode. What is it with Carol? She leaves because "I’d have to kill for you, and I can’t, I won’t" yet she takes out 4 men to protect Alexandria (they threaten to take her back there and demand to be let in). Why leave the note for Tobin anyway, why not a note for Rick or Daryl? Also Tobin's wound looked pretty suspicious. Daryl, I expected him to take off to search for Dwight. But to have 99% of the rest of the main cast follow him? OK maybe I expected that too. Sort of a Brienne and Stannis vibe to that last scene, except for the blood of course. "He'll live..." No memorable zingers from Abraham, but he did get to suggestively fiddle with the cigar Sasha gave him, in full sight of Rosita of course. The guy who survived Carol's fully loaded coat - anyone else think he's hidden in the car Rick drove back to Alexandria? Either that or he's stalking Morgan. Maggie/Glenn shower scene. Very intimate, shows Maggie's bruises from her last adventure. Thank god they're both safe... but wait! Glenn takes off after Carol without even mentioning it to Maggie, and is now in mortal danger (again), while Maggie gets a haircut and has excruciating pain - possibly the start of a miscarriage? Do the writers hate them... or us? Carl's had like 1 sentence since his eye-ectomy, but the writers did give him one scene (with no lines) where he hands viewers a Negan spoiler straight from the comics. The scratched "vampire bat" doodle on the gun and what it means - don't google it. Damnit.

Abraham did say, "make room for my freckled ass"... Ooh...you're probably right about the guy hiding in the car, although I thought he did take off across the field after Morgan and Rick, but Rick never saw him on his return to the car, so??? The carving on the gun Carl was handling was hard for me to make out. Maybe a baseball bat with barbed wire around it? I'll maybe have to google it.

It was a good time! Boys had a blast and wanted to take pics with every zombie they saw! Got a family pic with Morgan and some selfies with Abraham. Both guys were so nice and gracious, particularly Lennie James (Morgan). Security was being snarly about random celeb photos, so I only managed to grab some side pics of Sasha yakking with fans and Merle taking a Starbucks break - missed Dwight, Rosita, and Eugene as staff was eagle-eyeing me. And then there was this while standing in Abraham's line:
