I thought it would be interesting to collect information on lemons starting with Mormont's lemony beer.
This is a curious statement by Mormont along the lines of "the things we do for love".
A Game of Thrones - Jon IX
Jon opened a shuttered window, took the flagon of beer off the outside ledge, and filled a horn. Hobb had given him a lemon, still cold from the Wall. Jon crushed it in his fist. The juice trickled through his fingers. Mormont drank lemon in his beer every day, and claimed that was why he still had his own teeth. "Doubtless you loved your father," Mormont said when Jon brought him his horn. "The things we love destroy us every time, lad. Remember when I told you that?" "I remember," Jon said sullenly. He did not care to talk of his father's death, not even to Mormont.
Mormont is talking about Jorah and isn't it curious that he takes lemon in his beer every day. I wonder if he imported lemon trees to Bear Island rather than planting them so he had a supply. That could account for Dany's early memory of the lemon tree. The trees wouldn't necessarily be planted but kept in a pot and replaced when necessary. A practice he continues at the Wall by importing lemons and keeping them frozen.
The things we do for love theme and being killed by what we love is everywhere in the story. How does this apply to Jon or Robert or Ned, or Lyanna.

Lemon beer in the morning, cinnamon spiced wine in the evening:
A Clash of Kings - Jon IV
He found Mormont talking with Thoren Smallwood and half a dozen other officers. "There you are," the old man said gruffly. "Bring us some hot wine, if you would. The night is chilly." "Yes, my lord." Jon built a cookfire, claimed a small cask of Mormont's favorite robust red from stores, and poured it into a kettle. He hung the kettle above the flames while he gathered the rest of his ingredients. The Old Bear was particular about his hot spiced wine. So much cinnamon and so much nutmeg and so much honey, not a drop more. Raisins and nuts and dried berries, but no lemon, that was the rankest sort of southron heresy—which was queer, since he always took lemon in his morning beer. The drink must be hot to warm a man properly, the Lord Commander insisted, but the wine must never be allowed to come to a boil. Jon kept a careful eye on the kettle. As he worked, he could hear the voices from inside the tent. Jarman Buckwell said, "The easiest road up into the Frostfangs is to follow the Milkwater back to its source. Yet if we go that path, Rayder will know of our approach, certain as sunrise."
A Storm of Swords - Arya II "Hang this," she said, handing him the duck. Anguy shuffled his feet. "We were thinking we might eat it, Sharna. With lemons. If you had some." "Lemons. And where would we get lemons? Does this look like Dorne to you, you freckled fool? Why don't you hop out back to the lemon trees and pick us a bushel, and some nice olives and pomegranates too." She shook a finger at him. "Now, I suppose I could cook it with Lem's cloak, if you like, but not till it's hung for a few days. You'll eat rabbit, or you won't eat. Roast rabbit on a spit would be quickest, if you've got a hunger. Or might be you'd like it stewed, with ale and onions."

Not really what you're looking for -- just a little note:
Lemon is an excellent source of Vitamin C, which wards off scurvy. From Wikipedia on scurvy:
So Mormont may well be right.

No connection to House Dalt specifically; only that lemons comes from the south by way of Dorne or allies of Sunspear. Mormont may well mix a northern brew with lemons to prevent scurvy; but mixing his wine with lemons is the rankest kind of Southron ambition.

Speaking of Ser Andrey Dalt the knight of Lemonwood, again The Queenmaker chapter has Gerold Dayne drinking lemon water and then pissing afterwards. Surely these things are clues?

It looks like the house with the red door could be in the Summer Islands and that Dany shipped with traders and fishing vessels around the south narrow sea.
At the market in Vaes Dothrak with Summer Islanders:
I think Dany confuses Braavos with the Summer Islands because they geologically similar and traded goods from the Summer Islands remind her of the house with the red door.

Another even earlier memory of the red door could be at Kingslanding:
Dany has never seen Dragonstone; so this could very well be a memory of Kingslanding. It's Cersei who accuses Ned of stealing Ashara's girl child and I wonder how Cersei would come to that conclusion unless she heard gossip that traces back to KL. A child who died.
Dany's memory of fleeing down a long hallway leaving bloody footprints could be the source of such a rumor if blood was shed, guards were killed during the 'theft'.

I want to know if the door to the keep on Bear Island is red.

She did take a dozen flasks of scented oils, the perfumes of her childhood; she had only to close her eyes and sniff them and she could see the big house with the red door once more. OMG. Scented oils and red doors, of COURSE. I am such an idiot. I have been looking for this connection and can't believe I didn't see it. "A red-light district is a part of an urban area where a concentration of prostitution and sex-oriented businesses, such as sex shops, strip clubs, and adult theaters are found. Areas in many big cities around the world have acquired an international reputation as red-light districts. The term red-light district originates from the red lights that were used as signs of brothels."
Guys...Dany grew up in a brothel.
