Just a friendly reminder --
If you're going to discuss the previews for the next episode, please use spoiler tags. If an event has been shown as going to happen (promotional scene or photo/news discussion in the media) then this information needs to be in spoiler tags too. You can speculate freely on future episodes as long as it's not based on the known via shown images or reliable news sources. Remember, if you want to talk about what may happen without having to use spoilers, just go to the corresponding episode's thread and chat away.
Enjoy the show!

Moderators Note- HBO is not releasing their usual synopsis for episodes nine and ten of season six for Game of Thrones. ETA According to to EW there is this description for this episode , "Costumes: “The Winds of Winter” ( which also includes a description – “Cersei faces her trial”). www.ew.com/article/2016/06/13/game-thrones-emmy-ballots

Nine and ten. Where do you get the synopsis from again? WotW? Or IMDB?

Nine and ten. Where do you get the synopsis from again? WotW? Or IMDB? Usually Google that has a link from HBO. It's a mess right now. Conflicting reports from different sites. I'll fix the typo later tonight.

Oh my god. Someone made the comment below on W's Rant and Rave thread, and it makes total sense given the setup in last season. I feel ill.

Heh, yeah I wouldn't put it past the dynamic duo to do something along these lines. Batfinger But there is also that leaked information in the article about Young Ned appearing in a bigger part in episode 10, so we may get it from the horse's wolf's mouth. and yep it is a bit sickening.

I was thinking, that scene in the preview where Walder Frey says that horrible line about the Lannisters send their regards. Any chance Jaime takes the role of LSH and takes out Walder and his sons? Was thinking Walder will try and kill Edmure despite the agreement Jaime made with him. Walder wouldn't want Emdure in the picture if his (great?-)grandson is to be lord of Riverrun. Jaime would see that as a betrayal and know he's not in control of the Riverlands as he's supposed to be. The only solution for Jaime would be to eliminate all those that align themselves with Walder. Heh, I can dream

I still think that we're going to get a Lady Stoneheart reveal at the end of this episode.
eta: but then again I've thought that for the last two seasons as well.

eta: but then again I've thought that for the last two seasons as well. Same! And I keep saying it would be damned good television, if they'd only trust the damned books for a change. LS in the books is up there in my top five moments. Could easily be a top three moment of the show (Hodor, and Ramsay's face-chewing are the others so far). yep it is a bit sickening. The saving grace in the big "Lyanna is Jon's mother" reveal is that there is still no confirmation of Rhaegar as the father, no matter how D&D want to play it. But unfortunately there are only 14 episodes left of the entire series. I remember saying this a few times too, that I wouldn't be surprised if the RLJ trolldom came crashing down in the last paragraph of ASoS.

The saving grace in the big "Lyanna is Jon's mother" reveal is that there is still no confirmation of Rhaegar as the father, no matter how D&D want to play it. I am holding out hope....I am kewl with Lyanna being Jon's mother, no issues there. However, if we get the "Rhaegar and Lyanna were in lurrrrrve" via a Creepfinger exposition, I will just hurl. But unfortunately there are only 14 episodes left of the entire series. And you know what? I was thinking about this, and how really, if you think hard about it, RLJ is really the only thing D&D can do/could have done for TV. Given the crackpot parentage that's been clogging up my brain for the past bit, *if* it turns out even remotely how I think/hope it will, there is no way this backstory could translate to screen. It's just too complex. A crown prince and a daughter of a northern lord, though? Oh, that's totally doable for average braindead viewers. So if they DO cover it somewhere in 14 episodes, I will still have the hope that they took the easy made-for-television road and George will lead us through the treacherous, difficult path in the books. I wouldn't be surprised if the RLJ trolldom came crashing down in the last paragraph of ASoS. I wouldn't say never, but again...I think this reveal is going to be a whopper that requires some detailed explanation. Perhaps I'm wrong and it can in fact be sensibly summed up in a single (non-encrypted) paragraph JNR-style for a Wowsa twist, but I don't think so.

eta: but then again I've thought that for the last two seasons as well. Heh, so have I. Every season I think 'and now they're going to reveal LSH at the very end -- bam!' and it hasn't happened. Therefore my fantasy of Jaime completing the part of Frey killer, at the very least. However, we may be right to actually hope this year guys because before the season started Sophie and Maise played the game '2 Truths, 1 Lie' and Sophie's 3 things are:- “Ramsay dies.” “Lady Stoneheart returns.” “Arya checks three people off her list.”
We know the first one is a truth, and I can't see how Arya checks 3 people off her list in one episode considering one of them is Gregor Clegane and the other is Walder Frey. They are too few names and too spread out in Westeros for her to get that done, I think.
Combine it with Maise's 3 things:-
“Arya goes to Westeros, back over the sea.” “Arya is in the trailer more times than people have realized, because they don’t realize it’s her.” “Arya doesn’t cross any more names off her list.”
Again we know the first one is very likely to happen next episode since she's already resigned being a FM. The second is quite possibly a lie, I'd have to rewatch the trailer, but she doesn't seem to have worn any faces this year that turned up in the trailer. And the last contradicts what Sophie says, so I think that one is the second truth, making it Sophie's lie out of the 3 things said.
So here I go, hoping yet again for the 3rd or 4th season in a row that we get LSH.

I read someone's review of the episode and said the closeup of Sandor pissing in the river was D&D flipping the bird at book readers hoping for Lady Stoneheart.

The first watch of that scene I was expecting something. After WeaselPie brought it up added to a rewatch of the ep., I've had the feeling that it could be a taunt/tease to everyone expecting Lady Stoneheart yet I'm still waiting for her appearance.

Yup, we got trolled with that one, especially after all the "vengeful mother" themes.

I thought there were only 7 episodes left (after tomorrow night), which would cover Season 7. Are they planning on a Season 8, with 7 more episodes?
